How to Add Google Reviews to a Framer Website

You add Google reviews to a Framer site with the ReviewsJet plugin. Install it from the Framer Marketplace, connect your Google listing, publish the reviews you want, and insert the widget on the canvas. There is no Google Cloud API key and nothing to paste into an Embed.

Key takeaways

  • Framer has no built-in Google reviews. A code embed or a Places API key is the usual workaround.
  • The ReviewsJet plugin places the widget for you. Page layouts go on the canvas. A popup sits in site-wide custom code.
  • You sign in and approve the Framer project. Framer does not hand ReviewsJet your email the way Wix or Webflow does.
  • Free includes 5 published reviews from 1 source. Widgets stay unlimited. See pricing when you need more.

What you are replacing

Most Framer write-ups tell you to drop an HTML embed on the page, or to create a Google Cloud key and a Place ID. Both work until the embed height is wrong, or the key is restricted to the wrong domain and the canvas stays empty.

The plugin writes a ReviewsJet component into the project and drops it where you are looking. You drag and resize it like any other layer. The reviews render on the canvas, so you can lay the page out around them before you publish.

What you need

  • A Framer project you can publish
  • The ReviewsJet plugin from the Framer Marketplace
  • Your Google Maps listing link
  • A ReviewsJet account

Step 1: Install the plugin and approve the project

In Framer, open Plugins, then Browse Plugins, and search for ReviewsJet. You can also install it from the Marketplace listing.

Open the plugin and choose Connect. It opens ReviewsJet in a new tab. Sign in and approve the project. The plugin picks up the connection on its own. There is no "Continue with Framer" button, because a Framer plugin does not provide an email to sign you in.

Step 2: Connect Google

In ReviewsJet, open Collect and choose Google. Paste your Google Maps link. It looks like maps.google.com or google.com/maps/place/…. By default only 5-star reviews come in. Lower that if you also want 4-star reviews. The change applies to the next import. Reviews already saved stay as they are.

The first import usually finishes in a minute or two. Keep the panel open until it does.

Step 3: Publish a short set

Open Reviews and publish the comments that match the page you are designing. Leave the rest unpublished. Only published reviews appear in the widget.

Free publishes 5 reviews from 1 source. That is enough to prove the Framer page. Professional publishes 150 from 2 sources, which is the point you add Yelp or Trustpilot beside Google.

Step 4: Insert a grid on the canvas

In the plugin, choose Grid and click Insert. The component lands in the frame you are viewing. Drag it to the section under the offer, or onto a dedicated reviews page.

Step 5: Publish the Framer site and check it

Publish the site. Open the live URL, not only the canvas. Confirm the names and photos load, and that unpublished reviews are absent.

A quiet import is usually the filter

The connect screen starts at 5 stars only. A Maps listing can have a long history and still arrive as a short set, because that is what the filter asked for. Lower "Only import reviews rated" when 4-star reviews belong on the page too. The change applies to the next import. Reviews already saved stay where they are.

The other empty result is the address. A Google search, or a Cloud key restricted to the wrong domain, is what the embed tutorials run into. The plugin does not use that key. It reads the listing URL. If Collect saves nothing, open the place on Maps and copy the link from the overview, or from Share.

What you can see before you publish

A grid or a slider is a layer. You can drag it, resize it, and read the reviews while you design the page. Popup and Spotlight are not layers. "Show on every page" writes them as Framer custom code, and Framer only serves that code after you publish. A canvas that looks unchanged, after you chose a popup, is the expected result. Open the live URL.

Use a slider above the fold when the section only has room for one review moving past. Use a grid when the section's job is to be read. Do not put both on the same view.

If you also need Airbnb stays on the same Framer site, the connect step is a listing URL rather than a Maps link. That walkthrough is How to Display Airbnb Reviews on a Framer Website. For Google on a normal site, start with Display Google Reviews on Your Website.

Install the plugin, connect the Maps listing, publish a few strong reviews, and insert the grid where the page asks for the sale.
